Why Clearview

An exam that isn’t a sales funnel.

Dr. Sarah Lindqvist opened Clearview in 2009 because she wanted exam rooms where nobody is rushed and opticians who are paid to fit you well — not to hit a quota. Your exam takes the time it takes, and your prescription is yours to fill anywhere.

The frame wall runs from $79 complete pairs to designer lines, every price on the tag. We verify your vision insurance before your visit, take FSA and HSA cards, and back every frame with a 2-year warranty — because good glasses should outlast the receipt.

  • Same-week appointments, online booking
  • Retinal imaging included with every exam
  • Insurance verified first · FSA/HSA accepted
  • 2-year warranty and free lifetime adjustments on frames

Reviews

Madison’s word of mouth, in writing.

“Booked online Tuesday, examined Thursday. Dr. Lindqvist caught early glaucoma signs my old chain-store exams missed for years and got me to a specialist within the week. That exam may have saved my sight.”
Ellen W. Patient · Vilas neighborhood
“My 7-year-old sat on his glasses twice in one school year. Both times Clearview replaced the frame under warranty, no lecture, no charge. The kids’ exam was so gentle he asks when he gets to go back.”
Marcus D. Parent · Willy Street
“Fifteen years of “you’re a hard fit” from other offices, and Clearview got me into scleral lenses that actually work. They let me trial three options before I paid for any. My FSA card covered the rest.”

Questions

Good questions we hear every week.

How much is an eye exam?

A comprehensive exam is $129 without insurance, retinal imaging included. With vision plans like VSP, EyeMed, or Davis Vision, most patients pay a $10–$25 copay. We verify your benefits before your visit so there are no surprises at checkout.

Do you take my insurance? What about FSA/HSA?

We accept most major vision plans (VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision, Superior Vision) and bill medical insurance — including Medicare — for medical eye visits like dry eye or diabetic exams. FSA and HSA cards work for exams, glasses, and contacts.

What does the 2-year frame warranty cover?

Manufacturer defects and normal-wear breakage — hinges, temples, broken fronts — repaired or replaced at no charge for 2 years. Kids’ frames additionally get one no-questions-asked replacement in the first year, even if it was recess’s fault.

Can I just get my prescription and buy glasses elsewhere?

Of course. Your prescription is yours — we hand it over automatically after every exam, contact lens parameters included once your fit is finalized. Plenty of patients shop online; many come back for the free adjustments anyway.

When should my child have their first eye exam?

We recommend a first comprehensive exam around age 5, before kindergarten, and yearly after that — sooner if you notice squinting, sitting close to screens, or an eye that drifts. School screenings catch some problems, but they miss plenty.

Tell us what you need — an exam, new frames, or a contact lens fit — and we’ll confirm a time within the hour during office hours, with your insurance verified.
